I have been dying to wear my new Victoria canvas shoes* for about two weeks now. Just as I keep thinking Spring is just around the corner, the weather changes its mind and the waterproofs have to come out again. It’s starting to get a bit depressing. I was convinced this weekend was the one my lovely yellow shoes would get their first outing but sadly not. They came all the way back to Liverpool with me but it has barely stopped raining long enough for me to take them out of my bag.
Look at how adorably cute they are! I love the bright colour and they are super comfortable. The first thing I’m going to pair them with is a pair of blue jeans (complete with turn ups). My ankles are always the first thing to come out as the weather warms up. My turn ups are usually accompanied by a pair of ballet pumps but now I’m pretty excited that I’ll have these little rays of sunshine on my feet.
In fact, my summer shoe wardrobe has been pretty much exclusively ballet flats for the past couple of years. So with the addition of these yellow plimsolls I’ve just doubled the number of styles for this year already. Yes!
I love the fact that these shoes look just like the plimsolls I used to wear in P.E. lessons at school, except that they were white, and although I did hate P.E. at school I’m not holding that against these shoes.
As soon as the rain holds off (I’m not even waiting for the sun to come out, just for it to stop with the precipitation) I’m getting these bad boys on my feet. Until then, I’ll be looking at them longingly and wishing that Spring would hurry up and be sprung!
