Day Out For All

20/06/2017      35 Comments

Now that Cece is getting older I want to start going out for proper family days out. Not that we never went out together before but now she’s starting to understand and enjoy her surroundings I think it’ll be nice to take her to more exciting places. I mean I know roller derby bouts are exciting but she’s a regular at those these days and hitting the swings at the park is always fun but I’m keen to start taking her on special days out.

Alright, what I mean is I’m going to use her as an excuse to visit places I really want to go 😂 Like how, on her birthday we went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour, somewhere we’ve been dying to head back to and she was called up to open the door to the Great Hall! It was so good and she stayed awake the whole way around. Although she was a little bit scared by Aragog. I’m already excited to go back again once she understands who Harry Potter is because I’m sure she’s going to love him!

The zoo is one of my favourite places ever so it’s super high on my list of places to go with Cece, in fact, any place with animals is a good choice but I also want to visit some more interesting places too. I’ve always fancied trying to work my way through a maze and (as long as I keep hold of her) I think she’d love running around something like that and I’m sure Tom is dying to head off to Legoland and I want to go to the CBeebies hotel but I think she’s still a bit young for that one.

Anyway, there is actually a point to my ramblings today. I am working with Fenetic Wellbeing on their #DayOutForAll campaign. They believe that no one should be left out of family days out, including those with mobility issues and the elderly. Mobility scooters are always the first thing we think about when it comes to mobility aids (mostly because I think we all harbour a secret longing to have a go. I know I do. We even looked at hiring me one when we went to Center Parcs when I was heavily pregnant last year haha!) And they really are a lot of help in making days out more accessible for all the family but they certainly aren’t the only solution. There are loads of walking aids available depending on your own level of mobility.

We are lucky in our family that no one really needs any mobility aids yet so it’s never had to be a huge consideration about where we plan our visits. Although I do know how difficult it can be getting a buggy around sometimes so I can’t even imagine how difficult it must be if we did need to add mobility as a consideration into our planning too.

To celebrate the #DayOutForAll campaign I am giving away a family day out for two adults and two children. All you have to do is follow the instructions on the Rafflecopter widget below and you could be planning your next great family day out too.

That great as i do struggle with my back and legs and nerve pain and always worry what if and try to plan as to when im on a good day but its a great option i had never though about hiring an aid but its great that places offer this. If we were lucky enough to win would love to take our two to a zoo as they have been asking for their upcoming birthdays.

I have disability meaning that I use a wheelchair when out and about our son also has autism so it can be restricting where we go and when if I won I am unsure where we would go without research but it would be a very much welcomed family day outx

Mobility aids have long helped my family continue to enjoy days out with agin grandparents. I can tell you…chasing my grandmother round marks and Spencer’s while she veered from rack to rack is up there with my all time favourite memories!
