Brilliant Beer Right To Your Door

24/01/2017      Leave a Comment

I’m not exactly the adventurous kind when it comes to beer. I know what I like and I tend to stick to it, although I have been known to be distracted by fancy packaging. My father in law, on the other hand, is a bit of a connoisseur in this area so, when Beer 52 got in touch just before Christmas to see if I fancied trying out their latest box of tricks* I knew exactly who to turn to for an expert point of view.

 Let’s start with the basics:

Beer 52 is a monthly craft beer subscription service. They check out and provide some of the most unusual, unique and small batch beer from all around the world. They pride themselves on supporting independent microbreweries and want to be able to teach you about what you’re drinking by speaking directly to the people who make it.

For £24 a case you will receive eight craft beers, a snack and a copy of Ferment magazine. The price per case does decrease depending on the length of your plan and I have a special discount code to share with you. You can get £10 off if you enter the code LOJO10 when you sign up.

When you sign up to Beer 52 you can choose between receiving a mixed or light case each month. They have also mentioned that they may add a dark case to this selection too if enough people requested it. They definitely listen to their subscribers and want to create a great community of craft beer drinkers.

Each month the case is put together based on a theme except the first box you receive, that is their welcome box that contains all of their favourites. The box I received was festive themed and featured Santa Paws and Santa’s Private Reserve. It was nice of him to share some of his beer at this hectic time of year for him! You’d think he’d want to keep hold of it to wind down after work!

There were a fair few beers bursting with citrusy flavours in the festive box which, sadly, is not to my FIL’s taste. He did however really enjoy Santa’s Private Reserve. He was a big advocate of being able to choose the type of beers you’d like to receive before the box arrived so he could opt out of the more citrus heavy flavours. He did enjoy Ferment magazine and thinks it makes a good addition to the box. I forgot to ask him what he thought of his snack – if my memory serves me correctly it was a packet of chilli flavoured seeds and nuts. Although I might have just made that up and that could be something I was eyeing up in Sainsbury’s the other day…

So if you fancy buying yourself a little gift for surviving dry January (pfft! As if) don’t forget you can £10 off if you use the code LOJO10 when you sign up.

Enjoy!
