I’m still a huge pop punk fan and I love Blink 182. Mark Hoppus is one of my dream men. He makes me weak at the knees even now.
Anyway, my Mark Hoppus obsession doesn’t really have anything to do with Christmas (apart from the fact I’d like him under my tree please, Santa!) but this song does. It’s kind of the anti-Christmas anthem but I think that’s one of the reasons I love it so much.
My last song choice celebrated Christmas whereas this one is the opposite. The thought of having to spend time with people and try to be nice is way too much and you just want to lock the door and keep them all out. The way I feel for the other eleven months of the year!
I Won’t Be Home For Christmas is one of my all time favourite songs whether it’s Christmas time or not. I mean I have been known to blast this out and sing along in the middle of summer before now too. I think that’s because I feel like there’s never an inappropriate time to blast Blink 182 from the stereo. Well, that’s probably not true. There are a lot of times when certain Blink 182 songs would be inappropriate, but you know what I mean!
I’ll try to step away from the pop punk for the next song, but I certainly can’t promise!
