Autumn is my favourite time of the year. I love those days when it’s really bright but super chilly. That’s my absolute favourite weather. Anyway, so when I saw this tag on Cate’s blog, The Perks Of Being A Hipster I thought I’d give it a go. I haven’t done a tag post since I showed you what was in my handbag and they’re a little bit of fun every now and then.
Before I start answering all of these questions I wanted to tag people. Then I decided I was going to do exactly what Cate did and tag everyone! I want to hear all your answers so leave me a comment and let me if you complete this tag too.
The I Heart Autumn Tag
#1 Overall favourite thing about it?
I love everything about Autumn. From the fresh, crisp air to the planning and new start feeling that going back to school always used to provide. Plus, there’s loads of gorgeous stationery in the shops and That excites me!
#2 Favourite Drink?
Tea is my favourite drink all year round. Just the quantity ramps up during the Autumn. I do quite like hot spiced cider too but I’m really picky about this because cinnamon is my enemy. Evil, evil stuff.
#3 Favourite Scent//Candle?
I don’t really change my scent from season to season. I’ve been wearing Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude recently which I think is better suited to the colder months than the sunnier ones because it can be quite heavy. As for candles I like the leafy smelling ones because, like I mentioned before cinnamon is evil and companies love to lace everything with it in this half of the year.
#4 Best Lipstick?
I have a red matte Revlon lipstick that I love. The shade is 007 and I wear it all the time. I do really want a plummy/berry shade for daytime wear too though, I just haven’t found one yet.
#5 Go-To Moisturiser?
This is probably a huge boo boo but I don’t change my skin care from season to season. In fact I don’t stick to any particular brands from bottle to bottle. At the moment I have a Simple moisturiser that I’m using.
#6 Go-To Colours For The Eyes?
I’m all about the metallics at the moment. I have a Virgin bronze cream eye shadow that I use during the day. At night I really love Maybelline’s Eye Studio Colour Tattoo 24 Hour in Bold Gold. I pile it on (although it’s really pigmented so you don’t need much) and top it all off with a slick of black liquid eye liner and lashings of mascara.
#7 Favourite Music (Band//Singer) To Listen To?
Recently I’ve been listening to a lot of 50s and 60s rock and roll because I’ve been working on the playlist for the daytime of our wedding. Yes, I know it’s still 345 days away but I like to be prepared!
#8 Favourite Outfit?
Anything in berry tones. Mostly dresses with thick black tights and a chunky pair of boots. It makes me happy that I can start piling on the layers and no one thinks I’m an odd bod.
#9 Autumn Treat (e.g. Something You Have Your Eye On)?
There’s a coat that I saw in a magazine a while ago that I’m still waiting to appear in Marks and Spencer that I fell in love with. It’s leopard with leather arms. It’s incredible. If I can’t find that I have seen a F&F black and white coat that I want too.
#10 Favourite Place To Be?
This is a tough one because I really love London and being wrapped up cosy in the flat with Tom, some sort of casserole in the oven and a glass of wine in hand. However, I really like walking my dog around the tree-lined streets by my parents’ in Liverpool.
#11 Favourite Fall scarf or accessory?
I don’t think I have a favourite scarf you know. My favourite accessory is gloves though. I have a pair of fingerless ones that I wear in work so I can still type and a lot of other pairs for everyday wear. Mittens are my favourite though especially when they’re on a string through my coat.
#12 Haunted house, haunted hay ride or haunted corn maze?
None of the above thanks. They always insist in adding evil clowns to these things and I just can’t handle it. I’m absolutely terrified of clowns.
#13 Favourite Halloween movie
I love the really cheesy ones like Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween. In fact I quite like scary films (as long as there’s no clowns!) but Tom won’t watch them. I’m one of those weirdos that kind of enjoys that feeling of being scared.
#14 Favourite candy to eat on Halloween
All of it. Mum always used to buy multipacks of Haribo and fun size chocolate bars for the trick or treaters so that always makes me think of Halloween. Also, because they’re little that means I can eat more, right?
#15 What are you dressing up for on Halloween?
I’m not. I don’t really do fancy dress. I have only ever actually celebrated Halloween once. Well, officially it was Hannaween. It’s my best friend’s favourite holiday, so much so I bought her a Halloween cardigan for Christmas last year and she likes to wear it all year round. She dresses up as a cat, without fail every year.
