How to Become a Prosecco Tester at House of Townend

11/08/2022      Leave a Comment

Following the roaring success of last year’s prosecco tester application, Yorkshire-based wine merchants House of Townend are again giving YOU the opportunity to become a prosecco tester for a month!

John Charles Townend, Managing Director at House of Townend, says: ‘We were inundated with applications last year as part of our celebrations for National Prosecco Day. This year, we thought it was only right to revive the competition, offering six bottles of prosecco and sparkling wine for the winning applicant to test.’

As with any job role, there are a range of requirements for any would-be tester, including a genuine passion for wine – of course – 50 bottles’ worth of lifetime wine-drinking experience, and the enviable ability to be unaffected by wine headaches (the last one isn’t so much a requirement as a recommendation to ensure optimum job performance…).

The chosen applicant’s responsibilities will include:

  • Sampling a range of House of Townend’s finest prosecco and sparkling wine
  • Providing detailed feedback on flavours, aromas and mouthfeel
  • Suggesting areas in which the flavour could be improved

One of the benefits of this role is that it can be undertaken alongside other forms of full-time employment – although not at the same time!

The winning candidate will be paid in prosecco, and will receive:

  • 1x Amori Prosecco
  • 1x Barocco Prosecco
  • 1x Pure Prosecco
  • 1x Villa Sandi Il Fresco Prosecco Organic
  • 1x Villa Sandi Prosecco Rose
  • 1x Pure Prosecco Rose

If you think you have the knowledge, enthusiasm and experience to properly undertake this role, then House of Townend welcomes your application. In order to enter, simply follow the link here [https://www.houseoftownend.com/workingninetowine] and enter your details. The chosen applicant will be selected at random and announced on September 1, 2022.

Applicants must be 18+ and based on the UK mainland. A full list of terms and conditions can be found on the House of Townend website.
