We moved into our flat just over a year ago now, and when I say just, I literally mean just. We’ve been here for one year and 14 days as of today! The place is still by no means finished. In fact I barely feel like we’ve even started making it our own sometimes. Anyway, our hall is kind of T shaped and I’ve wanted something to go on the wall opposite the front door for a while.
You know, like some thought of feature on the wall that is going to be the first thing people see when they come into our house. After a lot of umm-ing and ahh-ring I decided more than anything I decided I wanted a stag head.
I found this one at Urban Outfitters that is also a lamp. I really wanted it because I thought it was really funny for some reason. I think this is where the stag head obsession started from.
But then the more I thought about it, the creepier it got and the fact that it lights up started to weird me out, even though that was the part I loved in the beginning.
Then my mother in law saw an awesome plain white one that looked knitted from Next but sadly it was sold out and never came back in stock. This is why I can’t find a picture of it to share with you. I can guarantee, though, that it was beautiful and it has set the benchmark that all others will be judged against super high.
I think I may have found a contender at The French Bedroom Company.
Isn’t he lovely? I like the fact that he’s plain white because he will go anywhere. Even when we move house he can come with us and he’ll go in any room. I’m already planning to put fairy lights in his antlers. Fairy lights aren’t just for Christmas you know!
I think I’m going to go for the large deer but I love him so much I kind of want two of the small ones to sit either side of him too but I think that may be a little bit overkill.
Anyway, have you seen any gorgeous deer heads I should look at? Or do you think this is the boy for us?
