Take Your Next Road Trip to the Next Level

28/06/2021      1 Comment

*** This is a collaborative post ***

I bloody love a road trip. I always have. Not only do they take you to some fantastic places, but the best part is that journey itself—a chance to take in the world around you, explore and spend time with friends or family.

You may think that road trips are already great, but I’m telling you now, they could be even better. Don’t believe me? Here are some of the best ways to make sure that you take your next road trip to the next level.

Adventure

Whilst you may have somewhere in mind to end up and a rough route planned out, the thing to remember with road trips is that they should have some random adventures too. Always be willing to tackle something away from your plans (so long as you are always safe). You never know where that adventure may take you.

Have a playlist

It is an absolute must that every road trip has a playlist to enjoy on the journey. Sure, you can buy a CD to do this for you, but for a truly personalised experience, you are going to need to get busy. Thankfully there are so many places that you can download music to play later that you are sure to never run out of song ideas for your trips.

Research exciting places on the way

If you are not in a rush, you will want to make sure that you have lots of places to stop on your route. Even better, take the time to research the main stops on your way and see what unique places and attractions there are that you need to visit.

Talk to people

When you do make a stop, make sure that you talk to people. There are some fascinating characters out there in the world, and if you are travelling around, then you are sure to come across some of them. Not only will this make for great stories in the future, but they may have some top tips for places to go or shortcuts to take to make things easier for you.

Rent a fancy car

Travelling in style and comfort is a must when it comes to special road trips. Perhaps you are travelling for a special occasion or as a treat? No matter the reason, if you want to make things extra fancy, then you could always rent a car for the trip if you don’t happen to have your own McLaren ready and waiting in the garage. From sports cars to vintage cars and even VW camper vans too, there are so many options out there to suit your particular travelling style. All of which can add something extra to your trip.

Try not to pack too much

Sure, you want to make sure that you have everything you need for your trip, but there is such a thing as overpacking. If you pack too much, not only will this take up too much space in your car, but it will also mean that you may be limited on the fantastic items that you can pick up along the way to take home with you.

Don’t make do with boring road tips; try out some of these fantastic ideas and see if you can take your road trip not only to the next level but a fair few levels higher than that!
