We were taken on a gastronomic voyage through the many dimensions of the multiverse when we entered Gingerline’s Chambers_. The main thing about Gingerline’s creations is that they are shrouded in mystery. They want you to keep the secret and that makes writing a review kinda hard! Ha.
This multidimensional voyage is anything but ordinary. It’s fun, kind of funny and more than a little bit crazy.
As you journey through the dimensions and work your way through the map you’ll have a welcome drink, five courses and a palate cleanser.
As with all Gingerline’s offerings, it was a whole heap of fun. It was a lot more physical than the other experiences I’ve been to from them before but that definitely made it memorable. (This was my first Chambers of Flavour experience so I don’t know how physical the other ones were before it.)
The food was certainly interesting, as you would expect from Flavourology but it felt like a little bit of an afterthought at times. This may have been because I felt pretty rushed through some of the segments meaning there wasn’t a lot of time to actually enjoy the food rather than throw it down.
I also felt that the story was a little disjointed at times. I know the main thread was that we were visiting a whole host of different dimensions but I occasionally thought that that got lost sometimes and it became a series of unconnected scenes.
Don’t get me wrong, these were minor niggles really. Things that I probably wouldn’t have noticed if my expectations weren’t so ridiculously high. It’s Gingerline’s own fault really, they always set the bar so high.
Chambers_ was a fun night out and I definitely wasn’t left hungry but Chambers_ is much more about the experience than the food. As with all Gingerline experiences you get a lot more out of it if you really throw yourself into it. Don’t be shy, get involved and have a great night.
