When I was younger there were four programmes that I really wanted to go on: – Fun House, Knightmare, Krypton Factor and The Crystal Maze. I’m showing my age here now, aren’t I? I knew that I’d smash it and walk away with all the glory (and prizes.) Sadly though, my TV appearances have been limited to Songs Of Praise (twice) and a hair show that didn’t really work for me. I never made it on to any of my favourite shows.
It’s ok though, this isn’t a sad story about how things never went my way. Because a couple of weeks ago, I teamed up with some of my old colleagues and we took on The Crystal Maze. It was very exciting. There were too many of us to be on one team so we made it girls vs boys.
I took on two challenges while we were in the maze. Both skills challenges. One was aiming for lights with a crossbow. I didn’t do very well but at least I didn’t get locked in. The second was a maths based puzzle and with some (a lot) of help from my teammates, I managed to crack it and walk away with the crystal with loads of time to spare.
There were four teams playing in the maze at the same time (obviously we made up two of them). Which meant we all met up at the Crystal Dome. As we waited our turn in the dome we quickly realised the seven crystals we were so proud of was a tiny amount compared to the other teams.
Thirty-five seconds in the dome compared to the minute and a half some other teams had may have meant we didn’t catch the most amount of gold tickets. But in the end, that didn’t matter. I just want to remind you that cheats never prosper and you can still walk away with a victory.
Oh, and to make things better, our team was called Chris-team-a Aguilera!
